Spring into the Arts

Please mark your calendars for ART-astic opportunities + experiences for our community April 11- May 18th! This is the 4th consecutive year celebrating the arts in a month-long, district festival, which is free to our community. Each event is student-centered and showcases a specific art form through student exhibits and/or performances. PTO Family Nature Night

You won't want to miss this year's Family Nature Night scheduled for Tuesday, April 9, 6-7:30 at Northview. This interactive event, organized by the Izaak Walton League, features various organizations and museums ranging from the Field Museum of Chicago to local groups that offer hands-on learning activities as well as live animals. We're excited to have animals such as screech owls and hawks, snakes, turtles, a tarantula, chickens, rabbits, a sloth and more! In addition, other planned displays and activities include composting, recycling, bird feeding, and gardening. This is a FREE event for the whole family. (But free-will donations for the Izaak Walton League will be accepted at the door.)

Family Fun Night: Saturday, February 2nd

Saturday evening, Feb 2nd from 5:30-8:30pm is the annual NV Family Fun Night sponsored by the PTO! The high school field house, lobby, and pool will be open to NV students and their families for a night of fun. Everyone can enjoy board games, activities in the field house, and snacks! The pool will be open from 6-8pm with life guards present. This is a family event and school children should be accompanied by an adult. SOUPer Bowl Challenge: January 28-31

It’s time for NV’s SOUPer Bowl Challenge that helps out our local food pantry. During the coming week (Jan 28 – 31, each class will attempt to bring in the most food items such as soup, boxed dinners, canned goods, etc. To celebrate our efforts, everyone at NV is encouraged to dress up in their favorite team shirts or colors on Friday, Feb 1st! Please consider getting involved and donating items to this cause! An informational flyer is being sent home with your child and is also available here.

Kindergarten & 3rd Grade: Please bring in condiments and/or canned meat (e.g. tuna, chicken, etc)
Grades 1 & 4: Please bring in canned fruits & vegetables
Grades 2 & 5: Please bring in boxed desserts and/or pastas

Team Lead Pajama Drive

Northview’s Team LEAD Club has decided to celebrate the season of giving by hosting a pajama drive. They will be collecting NEW pajamas in ALL sizes (infant through adult). Please consider taking advantage of holiday sales and purchasing pajamas in advance of the pajama collection that will kick-off on Monday, Dec 10 and will end on Thursday, Dec 13. If the goal of collecting 50 pairs of pajamas is met, we will celebrate on Friday, Dec 14th with a school-wide pajama day! All pajamas will be donated to Housing Opportunities. They are extremely grateful for all of our donations and are excited to partner with us again this year! Thank you in advance for your donation for those in need of some warm PJs this year!
