The Porter County Safe School Commission is hosting a FREE School Safety Panel discussion at Portage High School East Auditorium. This event is open to all parents (no children please) throughout Porter County and will have the Superintendents from all seven (7) Porter County School Districts present.

There will also be a special presentation of “Wake up Call” by SHAPE (Sharing Hope: Addiction Prevention Education) that identifies over 40 signs of drug and alcohol use by children and young adults. Come challenge yourself to find or possibly just be amazed, at some of the things that are ‘hidden in plain-sight’ in a mock bedroom of a teenager.

This discussion is a great opportunity to hear what our school leaders are doing to keep our students and schools safe as well as touch on what the current trends and problems (specifically Juuling and Vaping) that are in our schools.
